Help with QuiltMargins

Save, open and export your quilt plans

Keep a local plan, make an editable backup or download a copy for cutting and shopping.

Save a plan in this browser

Give the plan a name and choose Save project. You'll find it in My projects and in the saved-plan menu for that calculator. Opening it brings its measurements back into the matching tool. Saved plans belong to this browser profile: they aren't uploaded to an account, shared with another browser or synced to another device.

Download an editable backup

Choose Export JSON to save a project file you can edit later in QuiltMargins. Keep it in a folder you back up, especially before clearing browser data or moving to another computer. To open it again, go to the matching calculator and choose the file under Open a project file. Measurements are checked and the result is calculated again.

Choose the format for the job

PDF gives you a readable plan with cut sizes, results and notes. Print plan opens the browser print dialog for a paper copy or the browser's Save as PDF option. SVG gives you the separate cutting diagram. CSV opens as a table in spreadsheet software. JSON keeps the measurements editable in QuiltMargins. The diagrams are guides to the cuts, not full-size templates.

If a project file will not open

Check that you're opening a QuiltMargins JSON project in the calculator it came from. The file must be no larger than 100 KB and use the supported project format. If it has been edited or came from an unsupported version, open the original saved plan and export a fresh copy when possible. A rejected import leaves the current measurements in place.

Remove saved plans when you no longer need them

Use Remove in My projects to delete one saved plan, or Clear saved plans to remove the list from this browser. That doesn't delete files you've already downloaded. If browser storage is blocked or full, you can still calculate and download a project file; local saving simply won't be available.
